Connie was hired as the front office secretary/receptionist. Two months later, she became the Financial Secretary after the previous Financial Secretary resigned. Dennis and Connie were married in 1975 and have 1 daughter, Heather. Heather and her husband, Travis, have been married since 2001 and have 3 daughters; Riley – 18, Avery – 15, Macy – 11.
When Connie was 9 years old, after seeing that her two older brothers were baptized at 9 during VBS, she decided it was her turn to do the same. She didn’t realize at the time that she needed to confess Jesus as her Savior and Lord or knew exactly what she was doing. At the age of 14, she realized during Youth Camp what being a Christian really meant, but without having counseling, she only walked forward to “rededicate” her life. As an adult, while she was working at FBC Dallas and working through a Bible Study, she decided she needed to get her baptism on the right side of her salvation. Soon after, she was baptized by her boss. she traveled with the adult choir to Israel, he then baptized her again in the Jordan River.
Keith and Heather have been married since August 2018. She has known Bill and Wendy for over 20 years. God is fully responsible for her working for Compel Outreach. She became a Christian at the age of 17 but didn’t surrender complete control until 2008 at the age of 29.
Her husband and her do not have any children of their own, however they both have a heart for the youth of this area. They worked for many years at their former church with the youth and children’s departments. They have been blessed so much by God allowing them to work in the lives of teenagers that come from broken homes. She always said, “I was given a mother’s heart, just not a mother’s body.” She has realized that being able to be a small part of the lives of all these young people is just as important and effective as having their own children.
She is a member of First Baptist Church Haughton and has the privilege to serve alongside Bill and Wendy at work and church.
